BFF Visit!!!!!

Then about a week later my BFF, Kecia from New Jersey came a few days before a workshop at Valley Ridge Studios with Nina Bagley.  You know the drill–we shopped–started out at Jackson Square Antique Mall–just an awesome store!  We did some art–well, Kecia did some art–on my wall in my studio!  Now I can’t move–ever!  I’ll post a pic tomorrow when the lighting is better.  You’re gonna love it!  I started on something, but it still needs a lot of work/love, so we’ll save that for later.

We laid up some supplies for our stay in Wisconsin(we stayed at the O’Riley Farm), and swung by the airport to pick up Jean.  Oh, and more shopping on the way!

Seattle visitor!

I was a bit under the weather for awhile before my friend, Laura from Seattle, came for a visit.  We shopped, bummed around the antique store, went to St. Louis to Red Lead for a Christmas Charm Workshop, and shopped all the way down there and back!  Don’t have any pictures, but, boy, did we amass the loot!

I’m still here!

Yes, I’m still here!  And today and tomorrow are designated ‘Get Blog Updated Days’.  So without further ado, let me get you caught up on what I have been up to!

Where have I been?

Cowabunga! I can’t believe it’s been almost a MONTH without a post! What have I been doing? Well, most recently, I was spending time with my younger son, John, car shopping. Long story short–he has a car!

I’ve also been in some more charm swaps thru the Charmsters from Art & Soul; namely, Dirty Dozen, Going Grunge and Mica. Here are my charms…..Going grungeGoing GrungeAnd these are my Mica charms–the theme was ‘Home’–mine are titled ‘Le Chateau’.Then I also made some ‘Button Fairies’. I was really having a time making these charms–they just weren’t coming together fast enough, and I ended up cutting it pretty close timewise. So I needed to do something that was just ‘fun’–yeah, right! My fingers were so sore when by the time I finished these! I started of with thinner wire, but it just give it the body that I like, so I switched to a heavier gauge, which I liked better, but the tradeoff was–PAIN!!!!! But then, I guess I didn’t have to make 8 of them. Don’t laugh–I planned to make 18!–but kinda ran out of buttons. Well, that’s not quite true. I have buttons, but just not ones that I wanted to use for them. You know what I’m talkin’ about! And I was thrilled when my daughter wanted one for her bulletin board at work!Button Fairies And while I’m at it, I’m going to post the latest quilt that I made. It’s a Stack n Whack–and huge! It needs a little more work, then it’ll be going on Etsy…..Stack n Whack qulit I don’t know why it’s so dark, so here are some of the individual blocks: Stack n Whack quilt blockStack n Whack quilt blockStack n Whack quilt block Well, that’s all for tonite–gotta keep artin’! TTFN!

Boy, did I hit the MotherLode!

I went garage/yard saling a couple of weeks ago, and I came home with all of this! There weren’t any adds in the newspaper, so I just drove around and looked at what signs were posted. Then at the last one, I overheard 2 ladies saying that there was one at a church. Well, there’s a church down the street from me, and they have the awesomest sales. So I drove by, on the chance that it was them–and it was!!!!! The majority of items came from them.

Since I’m already having trouble…..

I thought I’d try to load some pics–let’s see if THAT works! So here goes…..these ATCs are what I’ve been working on over the weekend.More Vroom !Vroom!
